Question by Anais Baker: Why do conservatives hate the government, but love the corporate elite who run it?
Why do they hate the government and think it is so bad and wrong, but they love the rich corporations who run our government and economy.

Why do they hate an official who is elected by the people, but love a rich oligarch who never worked a day in his life and inherited a multi-billion dollar company?

Why do they hate the government who provides protective services for its people, but love the corporation who pollutes our environment, rapes our resources, and runs our economy into the ground?

Can someone help me understand?

Businesses use their political contributions (almost equally given to democrats and Republicans) to buy political influence which enables them to build new factories or retail stores, risk new ventures, invest in new methods of production and new technologies. The end result of their activity is the creation of jobs — jobs for non-union workers, jobs for union workers.

Government unions use their political contributions (over 95% goes to democrats) for one purpose only: to get as much taxpayer money as they can for themselves. They create nothing. They don’t build factories or retail stores. They don’t take risks in new business ventures. They don’t invest in new technologies. The only jobs they create result from forcing employers to accommodate rules which require more workers to do a job one worker could do.

Correction:

Government unions do create something: a small class of workers who extort ever more money from us in order to pay themselves greater pay and benefits than we receive; a class of workers who, when we say “Enough!”, close governments and schools, riot and make threats against our elected officials – all intended to thwart the will of the people, as expressed in Constitutional elections.

Or, more accurately, unions create…greedy workers. Some might call them socialists.

I really don’t understand it either… they are apologists for corporations who won’t even provide a living wage or basic benefits for their employees, yet attack government as if it is the devil itself, and they think these American companies are out to help us all, and don’t question why we have the biggest wealth disparity, by far, of all developed nations… most of these Republicans aren’t even in the $200k+ tax bracket, yet they somehow identify with and defend the interests of these greedy oligarchs who are making billions off the backs of America. It’s incomprehensible… mainly related to their religious beliefs and wedge social issues that will really never change no matter who is in power… brilliant move by the GOP leadership to keep their flock in line. BAAAA

I believe you mistake Republicans as being conservative.

I don’t hate the government but I do want it to be smaller, cheaper, and let intrusive.

I don’t love rich corporations I just think government should interfere in business less. Starting a business today is way to hard to achieve.

Government rules and regulations stifle economic growth. Corporations generate jobs and wealth, the govt. sucks taxpayers and workers dry.

I COULD help you understand but it requires an open mind and a fundamental understanding of the difference between truth and and political bigotry. I suspect from your questions that you have a complete lack of the first two requirements and an overload of the latter. And Conservatives don’t hate government. Government is necessary when men cannot control themselves and refuse to believe in and obey a sovereign God. Therefore, we believe in LIMITED government.
