@LKJslain No, they didn’t, not on the SyFy’s Ani-Monday airing anyway. And remember, Japan has less strict censorship laws.

To me, this show is basicly the two cliches meeting in an epic way. The Ultimante Good (Tenma), willing to save those he knows are evil and belives everyone is good and has a right to life. And then Johan is the Ultimante Evil, willing to kill whoever he sees fit for his own ends and the one willing to make true his SotD. Johan is trying to corrupt the Ultimante Good by forcing him to kill the Ultimante Evil (Why Johan keeps pointing to his head).

@onimotoko Yeah, so could I. Really interesting debate you could have with the issues found here. It is a shame that it isn’t as hyped as both those shows, but it takes a mature person to really get sink their teeth into it.

@pyro43261 Dude I could spend hours talking about this show, but thanks for just agreeing with me on the complexities it contains. So many people just want to stuff and get instant gratification, (Blood, , action, etc), but this show certainly isn’t to be classed with such things. It takes patience and most people don’t like that at all. Of course that’s why this show isn’t as popular as say, Bleach or Naruto. Not saying that I don’t enjoy those shows myself, but, yeah.

@onimotoko Yeah, morality plays a huge role in this show and a lot of the characters are put through some huge situations that challenge their sense of good or bad. I would say that Tenma himself isn’t really a totally flawed person, but his goal is the one that’s flawed. His drive to kill Johan is pushing him to do a lot of things he doesn’t want to, but I feel he hasn’t gone down a road of no return just yet. I think when the time comes killing Johan will be a lot harder than he thinks.

@pyro43261 But that’s just the question of this show. Who deserves it? Who are we to say who deserves it? How do we know what’s in a persons heart? I still consider him an antihero. Looking it up it seems to encompass anyone who is either unlikely to be a hero or has character flaws that make him “less than ideal”. I still like Dr. Tenma, but he his goal is somewhat wrong. He thinks it is his responsibility to end Johan’s life simply because he was the one who saved it.

@onimotoko I wouldn’t really call Tenma an antihero. An antihero makes a lot of selfish decisions to further their own needs, and Tenma pretty much always makes a righteous decision. I mean, if he had a choice between saving an innocent person’s life on the spot or going after Johan, I’m sure he’d choose to save the person. Besides, as tragic as Johan’s past is there’s no question that the moment someone puts a bullet in his head…he’ll deserve it.

@trigunlover11 The cool thing about this show is that no one is particularly “good” or “bad”. Tenma is more of an antihero than a typical protagonist. His heart is set on doing what is right, but parts of it are flawed. For example, he is dead set of killing Johan, when Johan should be tried in court. No single person has the right to end another’s life, and thus he is in the wrong. However, he is doing it for the right reason, which is so that Johan can’t do any more. <3 this show.

I just love all these people who Tenma helped, all coming together as one cohesive unit to help him. It’s like all the stuff he did wasn’t a wasted episode.
